Israir adds Tbilisi International Airport to its new routes in S14

Minister of Transport & Road Safety, Israel Katz issued a decree approving Israir Airlines and Tourism Ltd. a designated carrier status to Tbilisi International Airport Georgia.

Tbilisi International Airport formerly Novo Alexeyevka International Airport, is the main international airport in Georgia, located 17 km southeast of the capital Tbilisi. Tel Aviv – Tbilisi flights, effective 02 April 14 will be operated once a week, on Tuesdays.

The airline will operate two weekly flights from 17JUN14 to 26AUG14. Currently, Airzena – Georgian Airways operates its flights to Israel. These flights are operated every day except Friday.

Katz has also given a green light to Arkia's request to operate regular flights to and from Antalya in Turkey and start direct flights from Ben-Gurion to Odessa, Ukraine. The green light to fly to Antalya in Turkey, following a halt of more than five years, follows an agreement signed several months ago between the Israeli and the Turkish aviation authorities.
