The increase of 39% seat capacity will be effected by replacing Boeing 767-300ER aircraft with Boeing 747-400s
 
Delta Airlines VP Perry Cantarutti said last week that Delta Airlines has taken the decision to increase seat capacity on its Tel Aviv-New York route by 39%. The increase will be effected by replacing Boeing 767-300ER aircraft with Boeing 747-400s.
 
Cantarutti added that the Boeing 747-400 will have 403 seats, compared with the 216 seats on the Boeing 767-300ER. According to the official announcement 65 of the additional seats will be business class and 338 seats will be tourist class.
 
Cantarutti also noted that since the company launched its direct flights to Israel  in April 2006, Delta Airlines has carried over 870,000 passengers. Delta Airlines operates a daily flight between Tel Aviv and New York as well as a daily flight between
