Gagik Khachatryan RA Minister of Finance and Mickey Levy, Israeli Deputy Finance Minister, signed a Customs Mutual Assistance Agreement (CMAA) in Jerusalem.

The agreement is designed to strengthen the operative collaboration between the two customs administrations and to increase bilateral trade.

As part of the agreement, Israel and the Republic of Armenia shall cooperate in a number of areas: the sharing of knowledge for the benefit of professionalism and of information for trade facilitation, mutual assistance in matters of enforcement for the prevention of smugglings and others.

Deputy Minister of Finance, Mickey Levy congratulated the signing of the agreement stressing the importance the Israeli Ministry of Finance attributes to such moves for the further enhancement of economic relations with Republic of Armenia that is one of Israel's true allies.

Israel's head of customs directorate, Avi Arditi, stated that: "the signing of this agreement, similarly to thirty five agreements that Israel signed with other states and blocs, is expected to increase the efficiency of trade between Israel and the Republic of Armenia, to remove existing obstacles while improving the enforcement of Israel Customs and Tax Authority regulations.

Israel customs administration works diligently to sign many additional agreements with other countries, with which it trades in larger or smaller volumes.
