Prime Minister Netanyahu: "At last, after 62 years we have decided to connect the Negev and Galilee”. The plan will be spread over 15 years

The government approved last Wednesday the Prime Minister's transportation plan "Connecting Israel". The transport infrastructure plan was approved by 19 votes to 4 with one abstention.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said after the vote, "At last, after 62 years we have decided to connect the Negev and Galilee. This new network of highways and trains will bring to the Negev and Galilee employment, equal opportunities, new housing options and support”.

The plan which will be spread over fifteen years calls for an investment of NIS 27 billion to build the Jezreel Valley line and the Acre-Carmiel line, the extension of Route 6 to Cabri, near Nahariya, and electrification of the new lines.
