Seven construction companies have entered the prequalification (PQ) stage of the BOT tender to build the northern extension of the Road 6 toll road.
The 20 kilometer section which will include a four-kilometer tunnel, will run from Yokne'am to Somekh Junction in the Western Galilee. The tender is for the construction of two contiguous sections of Road 6 (sections 7 and 13), and for their maintenance for a period of 25 years.
The estimated cost of the project is several hundred million shekels, and is part of the NIS 27.5 billion Netivei Israel project.
The current tender is for the western fork of the Cross-Israel Highway or Yitzhak Rabin Highway, which will run from Ein Tut Junction via Tel Kashish Junction to Somekh Junction in the Western Galilee.

India's Larsen & Toubro (L&T) - a technology, engineering, construction and manufacturing - USD 11.7 billion company.
