Esmeralda is the four-masted barquentine tall ship of the Chilean Navy and currently the second-tallest and longest sailing ship in the world.
 
The Chilean Navy training vessel, the 4-masted barquentine, 113m long, Esmeralda, visited Haifa port as part of her world circumnavigation cruise, its 57th voyage around the world, a 260-day, 30,000 nautical mile journey during which it will visit ten countries.
 
Esmeralda, which arrived last Thursday, also known as the ‘White Lady’ (La Dama Blanca), weighing 3,673 tons, manned by 353 crew members.
 
Esmeralda is the four-masted barquentine tall ship of the Chilean Navy and currently the second-tallest and longest sailing ship in the world.
 
The 1953-commissioned Esmeralda is serving the Chilean Navy as a sail training vessel and an ambassador of Chilean culture to each port it visits. She is the sixth ship to carry the name, which represents one of the most celebrated milestones of Chile’s naval history.
 
The ship's also the first Chilean Navy vessel that allows women to serve on it. The ship was open to the public for free tours during her visit to Haifa.
