The port of Haifa company announced last week that it reached an all time record per shift, unloading TEU 1,685 (1,000 container movements) from M/V "Zim Pusan".
The record container movements was reached by 6 teams of port workers operating 6 gantry cranes in a period of 8 hours.
The port spokesman added that the record number of containers unloaded from the vessel cut its port turn-round time by 24 hours.
Mr. Amos Uzani the port managing director said following the announcement that the record number of containers unloaded in one shift show the level of professionalism in the port. Uzani added that once the ports development ended such numbers would be the daily average of the port.
The average number of container movements at the port of Haifa, per shift, stands at 200-250.
